Jewelry Care
Pieces with seashells are pretty delicate, so it’s best to take them off before sleeping, working out, swimming, or anything too active to keep them from getting damaged.
When you’re not wearing your jewelry, store it somewhere safe to avoid scratches or impact, and try to keep it away from lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals like chlorine so it stays looking great!
For gold filled jewelry, a quick wipe with a soft cloth will help keep it shiny. If it’s been in sunscreen, saltwater, or sweat, make sure to rinse it with lukewarm water and dry it off right away! Salt water and chlorine can cause gold-filled metal to tarnish over time. Gold filled contains brass and sometimes copper, which can react with salt and moisture. That’s why it’s super important to rinse your jewelry with fresh water after a swim in the ocean or pool.
If you notice any greenish marks forming, don’t worry—it’s just surface tarnish. Gently brush the area under running water using a soft toothbrush or use a toothpick to clean hard-to-reach spots.
